For the convenience of families who may need extended care, we offer Early Bird and After School programs. Parents can register their children for these programs by signing up in advance in the fall or on a drop-in basis (if space is available). Signing up in advance secures your child’s place in the program and offers you a significantly lower hourly rate for these services.

Early Bird/After School

Early Bird is available from 7:30 AM until 8:30 (for Children’s House students) or 8:45 (for Elementary students). Early Bird is a relaxed time which give students the opportunity to connect with other students from throughout the school each morning before the school day begins. Early Bird is held outside, weather permitting, or in the Studio/Little Children’s House.

After School is available from 3:00 (for Children’s House students) or 3:15 (for Elementary students) until 5:00 PM. After School gives children a chance to unwind through outdoor or indoor activities. A typical day in After School includes outdoor time (weather permitting), a snack, and relaxing indoor time. After School takes place in the Children’s House classrooms on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Sign up for Early Bird and After School for the school year takes place in the fall. The program will accommodate all children who sign up by the deadline. After the deadline, additional registrations and changes will be limited to the spaces available. To sign up for Early Bird and After School, please follow the link to the form (link).

Changes can be made to your child’s Early Bird/After Schools schedule by completing the Early Bird/After School Change Form. (link) Billing changes will be effective as of the first of the previous month for additions, and as of the first of the next month for subtractions.

If you do not wish to sign up for a full year of Early Bird or After School, your child may “drop-in” on a space-available basis. For Early Bird, please leave a note as far in advance as possible in the pouch of the Early Bird teacher. For After School, please consult and sign up on the sign-up sheet on the front easel or call the school office. You will be billed for drop-in time in quarter-hour increments.

Please note that, for their safety, children cannot be left unattended in the halls before and/or after school. Therefore, any children dropped off more than 5 minutes before their class begins will be sent to Early Bird at drop-in rates. Students whose parents are more than 10 minutes late picking them up after school will be sent to After School, and their parents will be billed in accordance with the late pick-up rates.
